Servants to the City
works with church and community partners and volunteers to facilitate
opportunities for individuals and groups to engage in meaningful service in the urban community.
CSM will engage in ongoing community needs assessment and involvement
with other community partners to identify community needs and opportunities,
and assist in coordinating requests from groups and individual volunteers
seeking to serve.
Outreach Opportunities
in Mission assists individuals, groups and churches to engage in meaningful service and to
build bridges of understanding and peace in places where, too often, we
have erected walls of division and fear.
Outreach
Opportunities offers short-term volunteer service programs, including
medical/public health, construction, and education, in a variety of domestic
and international settings. We also provide cross-cultural educational experiences and unique opportunities
to learn from and about each other through sharing gifts of faith, cultural understanding, and experience.
The program places special emphasis on
providing opportunities for youth and young adults from living situations where
they would usually have limited opportunities to participate in such outreach
experiences.
The Poverty and Justice Institute is the educational arm of CSM, which seeks to inform, challenge, and
invite people to deepen and grow in their understanding of issues of poverty and
injustice, which create division among God’s people and rob many, even in our
own community, of the fullness of life and hope that the Gospel proclaims as
God’s intent for all people.
Opportunities are available for adults and
youth/Confirmation groups.
